My name is Harold Starr, and I am originally from Las Vegas, NV.

Recently, I had the opportunity to take a leave of absence from my job to work as a student teacher for Catholic Charities. During this experience I taught English to refugees from various countries, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching and go back to school to get my TEFL certification. I then relocated to Medellin, Colombia to teach English full time.

My teaching expertise offers a range of topics to include, Basic English Grammar, English Conversation, Business English, Interview preparation and American Idioms. Before becoming an English teacher I worked in Human Resources, training staff, interviewing prospective employees and evaluating employee performance. I center each lesson around the learner. Incorporating visual, auditory, reading and writing into each lesson. We all learn differently, and it is important for me to try and present each lesson in a multi-sensory experience so the student will gain the maximum exposure to each topic chosen.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching science fiction movies, reading Stephen King novels and eating great food.

I am a dedicated English Teacher whose passion is teaching. I want each tutoring experience to be a memorable one and to help each student to understand and learn English assisting with their personal and professional English learning goals.
